Partnerships

Open County Report considers partnerships that suit its focus on county geography and place. We accept clearly labelled partner placements while keeping them distinct from editorial coverage.

Suitable collaborations

Relevant proposals may include partner links or placements for projects, publications, services or events connected to maps, place-based learning, local history or geography. We consider fit with the subject and the reader experience rather than accepting every proposal.

How placements are labelled

Paid or partner placements are identified clearly as such. Their presence does not imply editorial endorsement, and they are not presented as independent coverage or allowed to dictate an article's conclusions.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions remain separate from partnership arrangements. We do not promise coverage, favourable treatment or a particular conclusion in exchange for a placement. We may decline proposals that do not fit the publication or that would blur the line between editorial and promotional material.

Make a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the partnership option. Describe the organisation or project, the placement you have in mind, its connection to the publication and any relevant commercial terms.

Our point of view

Place makes more sense in context

A county boundary is one way to describe a place, not the whole story. We look across the lines to the features and connections that give places their character.
